We received some outrageous artwork from a Japanese ad agency for this shoot and we had a fun time trying to replicate the illustrated “pics”. The climbing shot was supposed to be without ropes, curiously, we therefore used skinny harnesses worn under clothes. The ropes will be painted out in post-production. The night shot is supposed to depict a large group of people surrounding the bonfire. Numerous photos were taken with the same group of people moving to certain marks taped on the ground so that multiple images can be overlayed “adding” more people to the final image. I believe it will be for a magazine ad campaign in Asia, so we may never see the final product.
