Rock Climbing & Canyoneering Guide

Originally from Sweden, Mia is not opposed to traveling far and wide in search for outdoor adventures. She has worked in the outdoor industry since 1993, teaching and guiding everything from rock and ice climbing to desert and winter survival.

The Utah desert holds a very special place in her heart, and she loves to share this unique environment with all its beauty to those who come here, whether it is on a canyoneering trip or a rock climbing adventure.

Her enthusiasm, vast local knowledge and strong technical skills make her a popular guide. She has worked at Cliffs and Canyons for three years.

Mia is committed to the guiding lifestyle and to continuing her education in the field. She is actively involved in the American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA) and has taken several courses in the different guiding disciplines. She has climbed extensively at the granite crags in Colorado and California, on the sandstone cliffs in the Utah desert, and traveled to both France and Thailand for limestone exploration.

Mia is also an avid skier, ice climber and mountaineer. She has been to the summit of Mt Whitney, The Grand Teton, Mt Rainier, and on an all women’s expedition to Denali in Alaska. She has also been on an expedition to climb Cho Oyu in Tibet. She has ice climbed throughout United States and Canada. During the winter months, she guides snowcat skiing and ice climbing in Colorado.
