3/4 Day Climbing Trip – Terma

High above the Colorado River a long desert climb runs the full height of the Wingate Sandstone to the top of the surrounding landmass. From this spectacular vantage point one can see a section of the Big Bend area of the River Road as the river does a massive S-curve on its way towards Moab and beyond..

The featured wall is primarily face-climbing with edges and ledges protected by bolts. As an ideal route for the aspiring multi-pitch climbing, Terma provides a great launchpad to understanding the specific techniques employed for climbing some of the other classic long routes on our area’s sandstone spires. Ascending the steep-but-not-vertical buttress is very straight-forward after a steep hike to the climbs’ base

*If you are looking to extend your day, then ask about climbing “The Spear of Destiny” after Terma! It is a striking single pitch tower that is a full-on chimney climb! Rated 5.9-5.10, height depending, it is an excellent way to round out your climbing day!*
